The initial general meeting of the association of legal entities with the name Slovak Association of Business and Technological Incubators (SABTI) took place on February 19, 2008 at the premises of National Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises in Bratislava (NADSME). The SABTI founders are eleven business and technological incubators from different Slovakian regions. Valentin Magdolen, the head of Incubator in Malacky, was elected the chairman of the association. The deputy for the technological incubators is Branislav Kolenka, the head of the Technological incubation centre in Prešov. The association will formally start to perform its activities after it has been registered in the Register of interest associations of legal entities which operates under the County council in Bratislave.
The aim of SABTI is to provide counselling and information services to its members on the development of incubator's services, support of SMEs development, and regional development; create and efficiently foster mutual contacts within the association network members as well as help to develop mutually beneficial co-operation with NADSME and other institutions of financial, bank and private sector, bodies of public administration and other co-operating partners dealing with the development of business in Slovakia and abroad; prepare conditions and actively operate in the field of raising awarness and goodwill of business and technological incubators in Slovakia; render other efficient support of their full development with the aim to intensively help the economic development of Slovakian regions.
